Accessibility Statement
VoiceExam is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance Status
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AAA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.
Accessibility Features
- Color Contrast: All text meets a minimum contrast ratio of 7:1 against backgrounds (WCAG AAA).
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements are fully operable via keyboard. Visible focus indicators are provided on all focusable elements.
- Screen Reader Support: Semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and live regions are used throughout the platform to support assistive technologies.
- Skip Navigation: A "Skip to main content" link is provided on all pages for keyboard users.
- Extended Time: Students with accommodations can be granted extended time (up to 3x) for exam responses. Instructors can configure this per student.
- Reduced Motion: Animations are minimized or disabled for users who prefer reduced motion (via the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query). - High Contrast Mode: Enhanced styles are applied for users with high contrast preferences.
- Dark Mode: A dark color scheme is available to reduce eye strain and improve readability in low-light environments.
- Responsive Design: The platform works across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Text Resizing: Content remains usable when text is resized up to 200%.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, we acknowledge the following limitations:
- Video Recording: The exam room requires a camera and microphone. Students who cannot use these devices should contact their instructor for alternative assessment arrangements.
- Face Detection: The optional integrity monitoring feature uses visual face detection, which may not work for all users. Instructors can disable this feature per exam.
